For customers using Dubber on Telstra, it’s important to understand there are multiple automated announcement methods. This article outlines what options are available and how they are configured.
What is an Announcement?
An announcement is an audible notification that the call is being recorded, which will either be heard by one or both parties, depending on the configuration.
Options Available for Telstra Customers
Recorded Voice Announcement (RVA)
This is a per-extension setting and is configured by Dubber on your behalf either at the time of provisioning, or after provisioning has taken place.
When enabled, both parties will hear a pre-recorded message that details the call is being recorded. It is played for both inbound and outbound calls. This is a standard message that cannot be personalised.
Please contact Dubber if you wish to have this feature or if you have any questions.
Pre-alerting Announcement
This is a per-extension setting and is configured through your Telstra Commpilot at any time.
Pre-alerting Announcements are only played for inbound path calls i.e. the Dubber user is the person receiving the call. The announcement played can be personalised for each extension with a recording from whom the extension belongs, much like a voicemail greeting.
If you need assistance with setting this feature up through Telstra Commpilot please contact Telstra for assistance.
